These Terms of Service (the "Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TierTests ("TierTests", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of our Discord bot and server, website at tiertests.com, store, and related APIs (collectively, the "Services").
By registering for a TierTests account using the /register command, or by otherwise accessing or using any of our Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. By completing a purchase from our Store, you additionally agree to our Refund Policy. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, and any additional policies incorporated by reference, form the entire agreement between you and TierTests (the "Agreement").
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Services.
If you are accessing our Services on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to this Agreement. When we say "you" or "your", we mean you, the individual user (or the organisation you represent).
TierTests is a Minecraft PvP skill ranking and tier testing platform. We operate:
TierTests is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with Discord Inc., Mojang Studios, or Microsoft Corporation, unless explicitly stated.
To use our Services, you must:
If you are under the legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, your parent or legal guardian must read and consent to these Terms on your behalf.
We reserve the right to request proof of age at any time and to suspend accounts where eligibility cannot be verified.
A TierTests account is created by authenticating via Discord OAuth and linking a valid, legitimately obtained Minecraft account through the /register command. You represent that any accounts you link are owned by you and that all information you provide during registration is accurate. You may maintain only one TierTests account. Each account is personal and non-transferable.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your Discord account and any credentials associated with your use of our Services. You must notify us promptly upon becoming aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account. We are not liable for losses or damages arising from your failure to secure your account.
You agree to keep your linked account information current and accurate. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where information is found to be false, misleading, or outdated.
TierTests provides a structured skill assessment system in which registered users ("testees") are evaluated by qualified community members ("testers") across Minecraft PvP gamemodes. Testers assign tiers ranging from S (highest) to F (lowest) based on standardised but inherently subjective assessment criteria.
Tier assignments reflect a tester's professional judgment of your performance at the time of testing. They are not a guarantee or warranty of any particular outcome, and we make no representations as to the objectivity or absolute accuracy of any assignment. Tiers may be modified as a result of appeals, re-evaluations, or administrative action.
Testees are subject to cooldown periods between tests. Cooldown durations are determined by your account role or subscription tier and are communicated within the platform. Cooldowns exist as a contractual condition of access to the testing queue and may not be circumvented.
Tier decisions by testers are final unless successfully appealed through our official appeals process, as communicated in our Discord server. We retain final discretion over all appeal outcomes.
We maintain public leaderboards and user profiles displaying tier rankings and related statistics across supported gamemodes. By registering, you acknowledge that your tier data, linked Minecraft username, and performance records will be publicly visible â including via our API and the Tier Tagger mod (available on Modrinth). These records are part of the permanent platform history.
Registered users may submit vouches attesting to another user's skill level in a given gamemode. The vouch system is a platform feature, not a contractual guarantee. We reserve the right to remove, modify, or restrict vouches at any time.
Our Store offers digital products and subscriptions that may enhance your experience on the platform. All purchases are governed by Section 10 of these Terms.
We provide a public API for accessing platform data. Certain endpoints require an API key. API access is governed by Section 12 of these Terms.
We do not warrant continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free availability of the Services. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice, without liability to you. We will endeavour to provide advance notice of significant planned outages where practicable.
Your access to and use of the Services is conditioned upon your compliance with this Agreement. As a condition of the licence granted to you hereunder, you agree that you will not use the Services to:
This section sets out your contractual obligations as a condition of using our Services. Detailed conduct standards specific to the platform â including gameplay conduct, communication standards, and community expectations â are set out in our Platform Rules, incorporated into this Agreement by Section 7.
In addition to the acceptable use obligations in Section 6, your use of the Services is subject to our Platform Rules, which govern specific conduct within the community and during tier testing, and our Screensharing Protocol, which governs the inspection process for suspected cheating. By accepting these Terms, you agree to both the Platform Rules and the Screensharing Protocol as published and updated from time to time by TierTests. Both documents are incorporated into this Agreement by reference and form part of the binding terms between you and TierTests.
We reserve the right to update the Platform Rules and Screensharing Protocol at any time. Where changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice as described in Section 19.
Tester status is a revocable privilege granted at our sole discretion. It does not constitute employment, a contractual entitlement, or any form of compensation arrangement. Testers receive no remuneration for their role unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.
We reserve the right to grant, suspend, or permanently revoke tester status at any time, for any reason or no reason at all, without notice, liability, or obligation to provide reasons. Revocation of tester status does not give rise to any claim for compensation, reinstatement, or remedy.
By accepting tester status, a tester acknowledges that their assessments are made in a voluntary capacity and that TierTests bears no responsibility for the consequences of individual tier decisions, subject to our appeals process under Section 5.1.
Every TierTests account carries a standing designation â Excellent, Good, Average, Poor, Terrible, or Blacklisted â which reflects your compliance history on the platform. Standing may affect your access to features, queue priority, and other aspects of the Services.
We may take any of the following actions in response to a breach of this Agreement or for any other reason at our discretion:
We reserve the right to take enforcement action â including account termination â at any time, for any reason or no reason, at our sole discretion. We are not obligated to disclose the specific reasons for any enforcement action, though we maintain internal records of reasons and evidence. Nothing in this Agreement limits our right to take immediate action where we determine it is necessary to protect the Services, our users, or third parties.
You may appeal enforcement actions through the official appeals process communicated in our Discord server. All appeals are reviewed at our discretion and our decision is final. Submitting an appeal does not suspend the enforcement action during review.
Any attempt to circumvent a ban or blacklist â including by registering new accounts, using third-party accounts, or coordinating with others to access the Services on your behalf â constitutes a serious breach of this Agreement and will result in immediate termination of service for all associated accounts, including permanent blacklisting of any accounts found to have facilitated the circumvention.
All Store transactions are processed by Polar as our Merchant of Record. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Polar's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Payment processing is additionally subject to your payment provider's own terms.
We offer:
Prices are displayed at checkout and are inclusive of applicable taxes where required by law. We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Changes to one-time product prices do not affect prior purchases. Subscription price changes take effect at the next billing cycle, with reasonable prior notice where required.
We reserve the right to revoke access to products where your account is terminated for breach of this Agreement. We are not obligated to refund or compensate you for revoked access where the revocation results from your own breach. We are not liable for loss of product access caused by actions of Discord, Mojang, or other third-party services outside our control.
All purchases from our Store are subject to our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into this Agreement by reference. The Refund Policy sets out:
By completing a purchase, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the Refund Policy. In the event of any conflict between the Refund Policy and these Terms with respect to Store purchases, the Refund Policy prevails.
You retain ownership of content you submit or post through our Services ("your content"), including profile information, social links, and communications.
By submitting content to our Services, you grant TierTests a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable, and transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, distribute, display, and use your content to the extent necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the Services and to enforce this Agreement. This licence ends when your content is permanently removed from our Services.
You represent and warrant that your content: (a) is owned by you or you have all rights necessary to grant the licence above; (b) does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights; and (c) complies with this Agreement and applicable law. You are solely responsible for your content.
We reserve the right to remove or restrict any content that violates this Agreement, our Platform Rules, or applicable law. Where required by applicable law â including obligations under the EU Digital Services Act â we will notify you of a content removal and provide a reason, and you may have the right to appeal that decision through our official appeals process.
Certain content â such as test records and moderation logs â may be retained beyond account deletion for legal or operational purposes as described in our Privacy Policy. We are not liable for the unavailability of content that has been removed in accordance with this Agreement or applicable law.
API keys are issued at our sole discretion and are personal to the organisation or individual to whom they are issued. Keys are non-transferable and may not be shared or sublicensed. We reserve the right to revoke API access at any time, without notice, for misuse, excessive usage, or breach of this Agreement.
Use of the API is subject to rate limits as specified in our documentation. You may not use the API to build directly competing services, extract data for commercial resale, or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure. Unauthenticated access to public endpoints is subject to automated rate limiting.
All software, code, content, branding, graphics, documentation, and other materials comprising or associated with TierTests are the intellectual property of TierTests or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. No licence to our intellectual property is granted except as expressly set out in this Agreement.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or commercially exploit any of our intellectual property without our prior written consent. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of our Services.
All third-party trademarks referenced in connection with our Services remain the property of their respective owners. TierTests is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with Discord Inc., Mojang Studios, Microsoft Corporation, or any Minecraft server or network, unless explicitly stated.
Our Services incorporate or interact with third-party platforms and services, including Discord (authentication), Polar (payments), Mojang/Microsoft (Minecraft account verification), Cloudflare (infrastructure), and YouTube (content). Each third-party service is governed solely by its own terms and privacy policy. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the practices, content, or availability of third-party services. Your use of any third-party service is at your own risk.
We maintain records of your tier history, test outcomes, vouch data, standing, and moderation history as part of the permanent platform record. We reserve the right to modify, correct, or reset any statistics or records at any time â for example, in response to confirmed cheating, an appeal outcome, or a platform-wide adjustment â with or without notice. We are not liable for any loss you suffer as a result of such modifications.
For full information about how we collect, use, and retain personal data, and how to exercise your privacy rights, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TierTests shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Services â including loss of data, loss of rankings, loss of purchased products, or loss of revenue â regardless of the basis of the claim and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits our liability for:
Nothing in this Agreement affects any statutory rights you hold as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country of residence. Those rights cannot be waived by contract. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TierTests and its operators, staff, volunteers, and successors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your breach of this Agreement; (b) your misuse of the Services; or (c) your infringement of any third-party rights.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice, at any time and for any reason, including breach of this Agreement. Where required by applicable law, we will provide reasonable prior notice of termination.
Upon termination, your licence to use the Services ends immediately. Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued before the termination date. Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You may close your TierTests account and request deletion of your data at any time in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Certain data â including test records, tier history, and moderation records â may be retained beyond account closure for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
The following sections survive termination of this Agreement: Section 14 (Intellectual Property), Section 17 (Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability), Section 18 (Indemnification), Section 21 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution), and any other provisions which by their nature should survive.
We may amend these Terms at any time. Where changes are material, we will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice, typically via an announcement in our Discord server. The amended Terms will take effect from the date shown at the top of this document.
Your continued use of the Services after amended Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of those amendments. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services. We recommend reviewing these Terms regularly. All documents carry the date of their last update.
